Chinese actor Hu Xianxu wore SHAO SS27 for a surprise of a different kind. On October 24, he walked onto the stage at Beijing's National Indoor Stadium as the special guest of rapper Capper, born Zhang Yanzhuo, whose "GAG Living Room" concept concert reimagined the arena as a place to hang out with friends. Capper had announced Hu as his guest ahead of the night, and the two used the moment to perform their collaborative single, "What's the WiFi Password?" (《无线网的密码是多少?》), live for the first time.

Welcome to the GAG Lounge

The Beijing show was the latest chapter of Capper's 2026 "GAG Lounge" concept concert series. The run opened in February at Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena, timed to the Lunar New Year holiday, and continued in August at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, known locally as the "Spring Cocoon."

The idea behind the series is personal. GAG is the creative label Capper launched in 2024, and the stage recreates the home his friends helped him move into when it all began: warm wooden floors, scattered vintage sofas and a softly lit bar. Capper has described the goal as giving fans a short stretch of time to drop their social masks, set aside everyday worries and feel like friends meeting up at his place. Each show is framed as a room open only to friends, where there is no audience, only guests.

That philosophy grew out of Capper's most recent album, Gun-fire Angel (《枪火天使》), released in December 2025. Where the album turned inward, the GAG Lounge opens the door outward, turning a private search for healing into something shared with a full arena.

A Friendship Turned Collaboration

The two arrived at this stage from very different paths. Born in Xi'an, Capper first drew national attention on The Rap of China in 2019, went on to win Rap for Youth in 2021, and has since built a catalog that includes the albums Sword and Rose and Gun-fire Angel. Hu, born in Tianjin the same year, began acting as a child and later graduated from the Central Academy of Drama, with credits ranging from youth dramas to the blockbuster The Wandering Earth 2.

The song began with a chance meeting. Hu and Capper first crossed paths in Beijing and hit it off right away, the kind of easy connection that feels like an old friendship from the first conversation.

It was Hu who suggested they make something together. An actor best known for his screen work, he proposed the crossover himself, then flew to Hangzhou to work on the track with Capper in person. The result is a song shaped by two people who genuinely enjoy each other's company, and it shows. When Capper later revealed Hu as his Beijing guest, the announcement promised a retro atmosphere and a meeting of two very different styles.

In the Living Room

The concert's "living room" concept suited the pair. Onstage, their exchange felt unhurried and natural, more like two friends catching up than a scripted guest spot.

Hu dressed the part in SHAO SS27, pairing the Lapel-Free Leather Jacket and Wingtip-Collar Shirt with Silk-Wool Suiting Hem from Look 15 with the Leather Trousers from Look 16. The collarless jacket and matching leather gave him a strong presence on the arena stage, while the eveningwear collar and soft suiting hem kept the look easy enough for a night among friends.

The pieces come from SHAO's Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Underworld Royale, Part 2: Softness in the Shadows, which looks past the toughness of '90s Hong Kong cinema to the gentler side its characters carry underneath. That same push and pull between edge and ease ran through the whole evening.

Hu praised Capper's cooking and complimented him on his recent weight loss, drawing laughs from the crowd. Capper returned the warmth, encouraging Hu to keep making music and giving a shout-out to Drunken Dream (《醉梦》), Hu's drama series currently on air.

The plug came at a busy moment for Hu. Drunken Dream premiered on October 16 on Tencent Video's X Theater, with Hu starring alongside Liu Shishi and Li Naiwen. The crime thriller is set in an old industrial city in Northeast China, where a string of killings at a run-down brewery traces back to a worker's death in 1999. Hu plays Gao Xuelin, a young detective who takes on the case, his first role as a police officer.

"What's the WiFi Password?"

The live debut was only the beginning. At midnight that same night, "What's the WiFi Password?" went live across all major music platforms, so fans could take the song home straight from the arena.

The title captures the spirit of the collaboration: casual, playful, and rooted in the everyday moments friends share. It is the kind of question you ask when you've just walked into someone's home and plan to stay a while. The song's promotion played on the same idea, pointing out how often we look for connection in a full row of signal bars rather than in the people right beside us.

For Hu, the release marks another step beyond the screen. For Capper, it brings a new kind of guest into the GAG Lounge, one who arrived as a friend before he arrived as a collaborator.

Wearing SHAO SS27, Hu Xianxu stepped into Capper's living room as a friend, and left with a new song to share.
